Pattern Inspiration - Circles and a Linky Party

THIS POST IS FROM ROOM REMIX - THE BLOG .

Elle Decor Photo Thibault Jeanson

Welcome to the Pattern Inspiration Party!

There are other patterns that I find more riveting than circles, but as I mentioned in my last post, I decided to use them for today's post. I also thought that it might be the least likely pattern that others would post about so, for variety's sake, it seemed a good choice.

Here are just some of the ways that circles can be incorporated into your design... (I'm trying to keep this post more compact because of the linky party, but I may not have succeeded.)

Add circles to your room design by attaching a transclucent dot fabric over ready-made curtain panels...

You could add them to your bedroom with a fun mix of fabrics...

How about furniture? I'm in love with these chairs. Notice that the circular pattern is repeated in the mirror (and the tufting of the bench). Repeating a design element more than once in a room helps the completed space feel more cohesive.

Circular ottomans/tables can be a nice option because they're easier to maneuver around and don't have any sharp corners for the kids (and adults!) to run into...

Now on to the party! I (we) would love to have you link up and show us what inspires you! Remember this is a pattern inspiration party, so the post needs to be something related to a pattern/shape that has inspired you or a project you've done. It's not just a general DIY linkup, so please only include DIY projects that involve pattern.

What to do? Link up your pattern inspiration post below (please link directly to the post, not to your general blog address). Also, I don't have a fabulous party button for you to post, but please link back to this party in your post so that everyone else can enjoy the party too!

Pattern Inspiration Linky Party?

THIS POST IS FROM ROOM REMIX - THE BLOG .

Country Living

I've done a variety of pattern inspiration posts on this blog, and I've been thinking about it lately and

homesandgardens.com

wondering if YOU would be interested in inspiring me (us) with YOUR pattern inspiration.

Calico Corners

So what do you think? If you have a blog would you do a post about a pattern that you particularly love or that inspires you and link up? Or if you don't have a blog would you be interested in seeing what everyone else posts about?

Thibaut

It wouldn't be a DIY party, because there are already plenty of great DIY parties to link up to, but if you've done a DIY project WITH a pattern that would certainly qualify!

I'm thinking about doing it next Monday, October 11th.

Let me know what you think!

In the meantime, here is a list of pattern inspiration posts if you're looking for inspiration today...

Pattern Inspiration - Stripes

Coastal Living Photo Jean Allsopp

Wow! If you've ever looked for inspiration for stripes, it's literally unending. I had to make myself stop to keep this post at a manageable size!

If you're interested in adding stripes to your decorating, or not sure if you are or not, here's a little inspiration to help you decide.

A striped rug (or pillow, or window treatment) can be a great inspiration piece/starting point for a room. In this room you can tie the color of the walls, accent pillows and curtain rods back to the rug...

Pattern Inspiration - Paisley

Fabulous paisley cakes at carriescakes.com and ameliascakes.com - here and here.

I'm continuing the pattern inspiration series today with the paisley pattern. As with so many patterns, the ideas and sources for incorporating it into your life are many but I've tried to include a variety (some decor related and some not) to inspire you.

Designer Candice Olsen used rub-on decals in a giant paisley design on the walls in this attic transformation. You can see the rest of the transformation at pointclickhome.com. (Photographer: Brandon Barre)

The way they used just one very large paisley wall decal in this room feels very modern...

Designer Kathryn Chaplow used a bold black and white paisley wallpaper in the foyer of this colorful home. She used the green urn to pull in the accent color that you see throughout the rest of the home.

Designer Angie Hranowsky found these great tub chairs, repainted them with white lacquer and had them reupholstered in this fabulous paisley fabric. Love it!
