A Different Architecture in Sao Paulo at CORTEN House by Marcio Kogan

I can tell that this Corten House by the first look at this house in Sao Paulo, Brasil was designed by Marcio Kogan, an architect which has successfully build many amazing homes with few features which have their own characters. One thing that I found common at this home design is the use of wooden fence which almost block the view at the ground level of this house. This impressive house is made a through blend of stones, wood, COR-TEN steel, white mortar and glass. The use of floor to ceiling glass doors purposely done in that direction so the sun can reach the living area and the bedroom. It’s always amazing and full of surprises too that the striped wooden garage door has its own style of opening that will lead your car to the street. Want to know more on Marcio Kogan?

The aim of this sustainable house design is stated as follow by the architects; “The goal of minimal environmental impact and off the grid living led to, among other things, photovoltaic panels to provide the electrical power for the house and the collection of rain water as the water source“. To make the inhabitants less worry about their homes design effected by the solar panels, the architects located the panels in a separate place and completely parted from the house.

A Remarkable House In A Lush Vegetation and Great Vista of Golden Gate Bridge

“A barrel-vaulted ceiling articulates the living and dining spaces at the topmost level of the main house, and a large deck projects towards the bay to extend the space into the landscape. Other, smaller projections from the house’s main volume towards the bay provide more intimate spaces for dining or leisure, producing a façade which can be read as a hierarchy of varying degrees of enclosure within the tripartite structural scheme.

Bedrooms, a study and a two-story play area occupy the intermediate floors, while a gym of the lowest level offers close proximity to an outdoor terrace with lap pool, whose “infinity edge” of water establishes a poetic connection to the bay beyond.” stated the architecture about this Belvedere Residence which faces the Golden Gate Bridge. Gwathmey Siegel & Associates Architects created this modern home with lush vegetation with spectacular view with minimalist modern interior design which is warm and simple.
